Both pairs have been great. My first pair of 20091s is almost three years old, and they're now my "Lead work only" boots. My newer pair is about 2 months old (pictured). I weld in a ship yard and boots get burned, cut on bevels, and chewed up when crawling, but these hold up just as great as any Chippewas that I've ever owned. I see the reviews about sole separation so there must be some lemons out there, but mine are rock solid.
My favorite aspect of the 20091s is that they don't have any insulation. If you're working, your feet aren't too cold anyway. Not having that stuff in the boot makes for a more comfortable fit that breaks in better and doesn't hold such a smell.
The one gripe is that one boot has a stitching screw up (pictured) that slipped past quality control. This isn't going to be an issue down the road, but this should have been noticed by at least two people in the manufacturing process.
On the off chance I ever get one of these haunted sole separating pairs, I'm confident Chippewa's customer service will make it right. Yes, I recommend this product. |

USA made loggers Probably my 20th pair of chippewaboots, I have usually had good luck with them in the past. This pair however, has some flaws most notably the arch. It feels as if I am standing on a roll of quarters. It is unlikely I will purchase another pair of Tywin loggers, but I may go back to the Super loggers. No, I do not recommend this product. |

American made? I bought a pair of Chippewa boots online despite the reviews. I wanted to support American made products. However they came defective returned for credit. Then couple weeks later went to local army navy store and bought same pair again had for about 3 weeks for work. Notice leather is wrinkled like they are a year old. Treated with boot silicone sealer. I like the thought of American made product but question materials being used says foreign materials I feel they may be not as good for the price you pay. Yes, I recommend this product. |

T for TOUGH Great boot, I been wearing them for over a month now. Solidly constructed like every other Chippewa I've purchased, but these took considerably less time to break in compared to the other Chippewas I've owned. I work long hours in a quarry repairing heavy equipment and these boots have been great. No insulation so they're perfect for summer weather, only issue I've had is I should have bought the next half size down (they run large), but I was too busy to send them back so it's on me. Now this review is only after wearing these a little over a month, I hope they'll stand the test of time but we'll see. Yes, I recommend this product. |

Not a fan of this style I bought this style boot about a month ago... the toe was too pointy for me... they didn't look as pointy in the picture. I sold them to my 15yr old nephew instead of returning them. He likes them. My last pair, of a different model, was the most comfortable and warm pair of boots I've owned. Yes, I recommend this product. |

Third pair Bought a black pair of Chippewa,s 4 years ago and they have held up reasonably well. The leather over the toes wore off so the steel shows through , but this is due to the fact I do a lot of kneeling down ..tile work, nailing of plywood , etc. I bought a second pair that only lasted about 2 years of rough wear...toe leather gone plus various seam stitching came apart...I love the style , Paid approx. 230.00 for each pair..do I stay with these or find another brand ? |

Durable tough boot. I bought this boot for work, was eyeing them for awhile and when the price dropped, I grabbed them.
First bit of field work with them; the days were cold and the laces stiffen up really easy, but they don't slip.
The boot itself isn't as heavy as I thought they'd be and once you get used to the high lacing and break them on they're great!
P.s. no clue what to do with the extra leather pieces that come with the boot. Lace bite padding? Yes, I recommend this product. |

I just got my new Apache steel toe loggers. Definitely need some break in time. But if someone from the website could find an easier place to explain chips boot width. I
wasn't sure what D meant. So I went with it. Definitely should have ordered a wide. But I'll survive. Yes, I recommend this product. |

Wow! No break in! Just put them on and go. I have worn these every day, all day and am actually disappointed when I take them off. I wear a D width engineer's boot and went two widths up to give my toes a little room with the steel toe.
Good job Chippewa! Yes, I recommend this product. |

Won't hold up to daily use, Great customer service I replaced a 7 year old set of boots with the the 20091 steel toed loggers because my normal boot shop no longer carried my go to brand. My brother always praised his Chippewas, I just could't justify that much money for a pair of work boots. I took the plunge and got the Chippewas even though they weren't black. In less than a year the back of the right boot had blown out just above the heel cap. The retailer told me about the 1 year manufacturer warranty and gave me all the needed info. I bought a new pair of the same boots, contacted the manufacturer, got an RMA # , Packed the old boots in the box the new boots came in and sent them in for evaluation. A month later I had a new replacement pair on my door step. Great customer service & return time.
Here I am 10 1/2 months later the boots I bought to wear during the warranty process have a hole on the at the ankle bone. The soles of the boots are hardly worn, yet the leather is coming apart. These boots have been worn on a daily basis. They have been treated heavily with Kiwi leather conditioner on a minimum of twice a month. I have never in 40 years had a pair of boots that have had leather issues in a year, not to mention before the first pair of laces have worn out. I'll go ahead and warranty these( since I have a brand new pair). I guess if your willing to buy 2 pair and warranty them every 10 months or so.... not a bad deal. No, I do not recommend this product. |

This is my first and last set of Chippewa I've had the boots for a month or so and let me tell you, If your toe touches the ground you will destroy the leather on these boots. I've had boots half of the price with leather 100 times more resilient.Because the leather is so soft, where the steel toe ends, the hull of the boot pancakes out leaving your toes bashing against the steel.****I bought these at the local shop less than a month ago, and they are the correct size. Before they were broken in I didn't have a problem. No, I do not recommend this product. |

Very dissapointed Bought these boots two and a half months ago and after use of just 14 workdays the heel is separating from the sole. My coworkers all comment that, that is a lot of money to spend and not a lot of days of use for the heel to be blowing out like that already. The boots have seen simple use and I purchased them because of being one of the only companies that sell American made boots. I have contacted Chippewa boots and am going to give them a fair shot at fixing this. No, I do not recommend this product. |

love the boots but here is an honest review!! Bought the boots early spring from a local retailer and the have noticed the laces toward the bottom of the boot where the American made sign is torn I'm thinking the metal lace holes have some metal bores that are cutting into the lace but it is hindering fitment as i can no longer tie them tight. They are the best boots i have ever worn and if this can get fixed i will definitely give them 5 stars.ps i noticed they began to fray a couple of weeks ago so i was careful to not tighten them too tight but they eventually just frayed apart Yes, I recommend this product. |

These boots are an excellent investment that are sure to last a lifetime if properly maintained. They offer excellent protective qualities while being comfortable enough to wear throughout the day. The leathers used in this product are tough yet surprisingly supple and will hold a protective oiling well. Combining classic looks with pure, American craftsmanship, these boots are some of the best on the pre-sized market. Yes, I recommend this product. |

Best Boot Money Can Buy! If you never want to have to buy another pair of all-around work boots, buy a pair of Chippewas. They are simply the best. The design, quality, workmanship, and materials are second to none. They are comfortable, rugged, and practical. I'm convinced mine will last a lifetime and am thrilled to own them. I use them for snow boots, working in the woods, cutting trees, and any other type of outdoor activities. Yes, I recommend this product. |
