1969 ORIGINAL KUSH N KOLLAR is rated 4.8 out of 5 by 5.
Rated 5 out of 5 by from The finest hiking/hunting boot there is. I bought a pair at Kaplans in San Francisco circa 1970 for around $50. That was a small fortune then. The boots served me up and down the west coast for a year, then I joined the Army and they served me in the mountains of Korea on my time off. I came home and worth the stuffing out of those boots for ten years and resoled them once (never the same after resole). I have been looking for another pair for several years and here they are. Considering inflation over forty years and the price is about what I'd expect. I believe these boots may outlast me this time.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Best boot ever My 42-year-old pair has seen neither light duty nor tender care. Soles are getting worn a bit, but they've endured backpacking and canoe trips, submersion and rocky trails. I've bought some newer, lighter boots, but they are long worn out. When I need a real boot I always pull out this pair.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Still great boots! I bought these boots in 1974. They have been worn in thigh deep snow, frosted in -19F weather, been on backpacking trips out west, climbed and rappelled back east, slogged through plenty of mud and rain, hiked the Bright Angel Trail at the Grand Canyon, spent time on the Appalachian Trail, and most recently, as a retro fashion statement. They are pretty beat up but they have been the best boots I ever bought. They wear like a glove, and are a lasting reminder of some of the most fun outdoor things that I've ever done. Incredibly well-made and long lasting...they put my other boots to shame!

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Solid boot This is a sweet boot. It runs big, and there is a serious break in period, but the quality is amazing.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Stunning Quality The materials and workmanship of this boot is incredible. The fit is solid and true. These boots will last for many years. I have many boots from many USA makers, and these boots are among the best I have ever seen.. They are expensive, but well worth it because of the quality of the leather and stitching. If you can afford it.. please buy them, you will not be sorry. AND they are made in the USA

3M™ Thinsulate Ultra Insulation
3M™ Thinsulate Ultra Insulation

Thinsulate™ Ultra is lightweight, breathable and moisture-resistant. But Thinsulate™ Ultra insulation goes one step further than regular Thinsulate™. It is loftier and thicker than original Thinsulate™ insulation for even greater warmth and comfort, yet still thin enough to allow complete freedom of movement. A mid-loft insulation, it is designed for some of the harshest conditions on earth and retains insulating value in damp conditions.

Thinsulate™ insulation works by trapping air molecules between you and the outside. The more air a material traps in a given space, the greater its insulating value. Because the micro-fibers in Thinsulate™ insulation are far finer than other fibers, they trap more air in less space, which naturally makes it a better insulator. So we haven't repealed the laws of nature with our thin insulation; we've simply obeyed them better...to your advantage.

- breathable - moisture-resistant - both machine washable and dry-cleanable
